HUGH POORMAN

HUGH POORMAN

Hugh Poorman hails from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada in the heart of the Queen City. Hugh’s roots stem from his late father, who was also a world class entertainer. Hugh’s Indian name is “Beautiful Sounding Eagle” (chosen in a sweat lodge), and his voice has been describe by the Grandfathers as such. Hugh started as a drummer in his first band and was instrumental in other bands throughout his teen years. His talent for drumming can also be heard on his debut CD. Hugh’s other passion is staging and lighting where he worked with some of the world biggest rock bands, such as KISS and AC/DC. Hugh’s passion for music is not only on the stage but behind, around, beside, on top and underneath stages. After playing many old bar rooms, cabarets, weddings, touring “A” circuit casinos throughout North America and headlining music festivals; Hugh has a sound of his own. Hugh’s voice has been described as old Soulful spirit, with ballads he wrote that can be felt from the heart and on the upside rocking out, non-stop right through his set breaks. This talented artist pleases audiences with a Rock ‘n Roll, Country, Blues mix with an interactive stage presence that leaves an audience wanting more, and a feeling that they are up and close and personal. Entertainment at it’s finest with an uplifting atmosphere that is second to none! A true performer at its best….Hugh’s motto, “I’d rather tread my own path however humble, than that of another however successful”…live, laugh, love, learn…Call Me! 🙂
